If it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas and it’s the most wonderful time of the year, then do we really have peace on earth and do we really want joy to the world? Or are we more concerned with getting our two front teeth and rockin around the Christmas tree? When it comes to the poor, abused and neglected, do they know its Christmas time? When it comes to them do you hear what I hear? Except for the silver bells of the Salvation Army we have a silent night. A lot of us are having a blue Christmas and not a white Christmas. We don’t live in a winter wonderland where there is Frosty the Snowman or a sleigh ride or where we hear jingle bells on our way to grandmother’s house. Here comes Santa Claus? Yeah, merry Christmas baby so have a holly jolly Christmas. We live the twelve days of Christmas like snoopy verses the Red Baron when all we really want is to be home of the holidays.

We need a little Christmas but not the kind where Santa Claus is coming to town, with a house full of Christmas wrapping and pretty paper. This Christmas, unlike last Christmas, we need to remember what the angels from the realms of Glory knew: that while shepherds watched Mary’s little boy child was born away in a manger, and because of that everyone, I mean everyone, can sing the hallelujah chorus. God rest you merry gentlemen because it came upon a midnight clear, the first noel. I wish every day could be like Christmas because Christmas is the time to say I love you. And we cry out, “o come, o come Emmanuel!”

So merry Christmas darling, have yourself a merry little Christmas – Christmas time is here so remember what the angel said to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

Feliz Navidad
